4MLinux 21 0 Beta is Ready To Download and Many Update Packages

4MLinux is an open source and independent distribution of Linux built from scratch and designed to be used as a system rescue Live CD, for watching videos and listening to music, for deploying servers using the inetd daemon, as well as for playing Linux games.
It has been designed from the ground up to be used directly from a CD disc or USB flash drive. However, users can install the distribution to a local disk drive using the built-in installer from the live session.
Distributed as a dual-arch Live CD
This is the main and first edition of the 4MLinux (four M - Maintenance, Multimedia, Miniserver and Mystery). Its distributed as a single Live CD ISO image of approximately 50MB in size. Supported architectures includes 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (amd64).
"4MLinux 21.0 BETA is ready for testing. Basically, at this stage of development, 4MLinux BETA has the same features as 4MLinux STABLE, but it provides a huge number of updated packages, including a major change in the core of the system, which now uses the GNU C Library 2.24," said Zbigniew Konojacki in the release announcement.
It also looks like Zbigniew Konojacki revealed the final release date of the 4MLinux 21.0 distribution. As such, users should expect to get their hands on 4MLinux 21.0 and 4MLinux 21.0 Core sometime in March 2017. This version will be supported for nine months, until November 2017, and will become OLD STABLE around July 2017, when 4MLinux 22.0 hits the streets.
Development plan:
- November 2016 -> beta
- March 2017 -> stable
- July 2017 -> old stable
- November 2017 -> EOL
