Design of the Course

This goal of this course is to provide experienced information technology (IT) professionals with the skills necessary to plan, deploy, configure, and administer a Skype for Business 2015 solution.
The thirteen-module course starts with Module 1, which describes the features and components of Skype for Business 2015 and the tools that you use to administer Skype for Business. Module 2 describes how to deploy a successful Skype for Business Server 2015 implementation that meets organizational and user needs. Module 3 describes in detail the various tools and technologies that you can use to administer Skype for Business Server, including Skype for Business Server Control Panel, the Skype for Business Server Management Shell, and Test cmdlets.

Module 4�s content guides students through the process of managing users and clients in a Skype for Business environment. Module 5 covers the Skype for Business conferencing features and modalities, which you can use to configure and implement conferencing in Skype for Business. Module 6 provides details on the conferencing lifecycle and explains how to design and configure audio/video and web conferencing policies. Module 6 also includes content that helps students configure and troubleshoot conferencing policies and additional conferencing modalities.

The content of Module 7 helps students design and implement monitoring and archiving in Skype for Business. Module 8 introduces the Skype for Business Edge Server and describes how to implement external user access by installing and configuring reverse proxies and an Edge Server, requesting and assigning certificates, and installing the required components for external users. It also includes content that guides students through the process of configuring access for remote user types.

Module 9 describes how to design and implement Persistent Chat in Skype for Business. Module 10 and Module 11 include content that helps students implement high availability and disaster recovery in Skype for Business. Module 12 describes how to integrate with Skype for Business Online. Module 13, which is the last module of this course, describes how plan a side-by-side migration from Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and Lync Server 2013 to Skype for Business Server and perform an in-place upgrade from Lync Server 2013 to Skype for Business Server.
